Perfect Darkness (Maaike Neuville, 24', 2016)
Maaike Neuville is not only a well-known Flemish actress. A few years ago, she started making films. And this hasn’t gone unnoticed. Her graduate film Sonnet 81 won the Prize for Best Debut at the International Short Film Festival in Leuven 2013. On top of that, Maaike received the acclaimed Wildcard from the Flanders Audiovisual Fund. With the prize money, she is now making her new film, Perfect Darkness...
Gus and his pregnant girlfriend Anna are on holiday. During a nightly walk to the spot near the water, Anna does a confession. Can the couple, amidst the wild nature and under a full moon, overcome the conflict? Will they reach their idyllic spot?
Perfect Darkness is a short about the nature of love, filmed in one shot.
It is supported by the Flanders Audiovisual Fund and was presented at Euro Connection 2016 in Clermont-Ferrand.
